Agenixian

LGBTQ-alphabet

genixian is an orientation term for agender individuals who feel attraction toward people with xenogenders. A xenogender is a gender identity that is not defined by traditional human concepts of male, female, or binary categories. Instead, xenogenders often use metaphors, abstract ideas, or references to nature, culture, or objects to describe gender identity.

The term agenixian does not specify whether this attraction is romantic, sexual, or another form of attraction, it can be any combination, depending on the individual. It exists to highlight attraction that is shaped by the unique perspective of being agender while drawn toward xenogender individuals.

The exact origin of the term is unclear, but it is part of a growing set of orientation labels created within online LGBTQIA+ spaces to capture specific experiences of attraction that do not fit within standard binary or non binary frameworks.

Kai had always known they were agender, but describing who they were attracted to was more complicated. They found themselves drawn to people whose genders were unlike anything they had heard described in mainstream conversations. One friend described their gender as “like the sky after a thunderstorm.” Another identified with a gender tied to music.

When Kai learned about xenogenders, it all made sense. These were the kinds of identities they felt most connected to in terms of attraction. Later, Kai came across the term agenixian in an online glossary. It described exactly their experience; being agender and feeling attraction toward xenogender people.

Using the word agenixian gave Kai a way to explain their attraction without having to translate it into binary or conventional non binary terms. It was not just a label, but a way of recognising that attraction can exist in spaces defined by creativity, imagination, and personal symbolism.
