Pharmaceutical Worker's Day is observed in Ukraine on the third Saturday of September. Established in 1999 by a decree from President Leonid Kuchma, this official professional holiday recognizes the contributions of pharmaceutical workers to the country's health care system. The Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry has seen significant growth, with local plants producing over 3,000 different medications, including cardiovascular drugs, painkillers, vitamins, and antibiotics. Approximately 350,000 employees work in various sectors related to pharmaceuticals, including companies, research laboratories, and pharmacies. On this day, these workers are acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to advancing Ukraine's pharmaceutical sector.
