National Blood Donor Day is observed in Kyrgyzstan on the last Sunday of September. Established by the government in 1997, this day honors the contributions of blood donors and promotes voluntary blood donation. The blood donation system in Kyrgyzstan was initiated in 1992 with the signing of the Law “On Donation of Blood and Its Components.” On this day, individuals who have donated a certain amount of whole blood or plasma are awarded the Honorary Donor badge. Events and activities are organized by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Red Crescent Society of Kyrgyzstan, and various public health organizations to celebrate and recognize the efforts of blood donors.
