This studio produced the first feature film, "When Emirs Die," in 1932, focusing on class conflict and the establishment of collective farms. The holiday is marked by film festivals, screenings, and cultural events aimed at promoting Tajik cinema and addressing issues such as financing and the need for qualified specialists. Following the civil war and the collapse of the Soviet Union, the film industry faced significant challenges, but the government initiated the Tajik Cinema Development Program in 2017 to revitalize the sector.
