The Day of Radio, Television and Communication Workers is observed in Ukraine every November 16. Established by President Leonid Kuchma in 1994, this official professional holiday honors approximately 250,000 telecommunication employees, including radio and television hosts, directors, cameramen, producers, screenwriters, editors, reporters, and engineers. On this day, workers are congratulated by family, friends, coworkers, and government officials, with some organizations and NGOs hosting award ceremonies to recognize distinguished professionals for their dedication and accomplishments. The holiday reflects the growth of Ukraine's media landscape, which has seen the emergence of numerous national and local radio stations and television channels since the country gained independence. While it is a significant occasion for the telecommunications sector, it is not a non-working day unless it coincides with a weekend.
