Beaujolais Nouveau Day is observed worldwide on the third Thursday of November, celebrating the release of the first wine of the season from the Beaujolais region in France. This festival marks the end of the wine fermentation process, which lasts only six weeks, resulting in a youthful purple-pink wine. As soon as the grapes are harvested, festivities are organized across the country, with heavy marketing efforts promoting the wine globally. Bottles are often shipped in advance and released at 12:01 a.m. local time on the day of the celebration. The slogan “Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!” (The new Beaujolais has arrived!) is commonly recognized, particularly in English-speaking countries, where it has been adapted to “It's Beaujolais Nouveau Time!” in 2005. The wine is also heavily promoted in the U.S. as an ideal drink for Thanksgiving.
