Recurrence pattern: every year on November 26.
National Jukebox Day is celebrated worldwide every November 26, the day before Thanksgiving, and was established to honor the cultural significance of jukeboxes. The holiday was launched in 2016 by TouchTunes, a manufacturer of digital jukeboxes, and coincides with one of the busiest bar nights of the year, as many people return to their hometowns to celebrate Thanksgiving. The term "jukebox" originated in the United States in the 1940s, and the first jukebox, Justus P. Seeburg’s “Audiophone,” was released in 1928. During its peak from the 1940s to the mid-1960s, jukeboxes played a crucial role in music consumption and popularity measurement. To celebrate, people often gather at bars, diners, or restaurants featuring jukeboxes, share playlists from the jukebox era, and engage with jukebox-related merchandise or media. The inaugural celebration took place on November 23, 2017, marking the anniversary of the installation of a coin-operated phonograph in a San Francisco saloon, a precursor to the modern jukebox.
