Appraiser Day (Russia)

Recurrence pattern: every year on November 27.

Appraiser Day is observed in Russia every November 27 as an unofficial professional holiday within the appraisal community. It has been celebrated for over two decades, although it has not been officially recognized by the Russian government. The holiday commemorates the profession of appraisers, which emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union due to the increased demand for asset valuation services following the 1991 Law on the Privatization of State and Municipal Property. The day marks the approval of the qualification profile for appraisers by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development in 1996, considered the profession's "birthday." Approximately 20,000 licensed appraisers work in Russia, with about 7,000 being members of the Russian Society of Appraisers, the oldest and largest professional organization for valuation experts in the country. Celebrations typically include professional events such as conferences, seminars, and workshops organized by this society, allowing appraisers to network and share experiences.
