The Day of the State Flag is observed in Georgia every January 14. This day commemorates the adoption of the current flag, known as the Five Cross Flag, by the Georgian Parliament in 2004. It was initially embraced by the United National Movement, led by Mikheil Saakashvili, during the early 2000s as a symbol of resistance against the then-ruling government.
