National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) is observed in the United States every February 7. Established in 1999 by several national organizations funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this initiative aims to engage Black communities in education about HIV and AIDS, encourage testing, and promote treatment for those who are HIV-positive. The Strategic Leadership Council governs NBHAAD, providing guidance and direction to African American communities and organizations. Activities associated with the day include HIV, STD, and hepatitis C testing, workshops, discussions, performances, and church services.
