February 12: Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day

Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day is observed every February 12, primarily in Canada, but also in some other countries, including India. Launched by the Public Health Agency of Canada, the day focuses on a broad range of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) issues, such as complications related to pregnancy and childbirth, the unavailability of modern contraception, female genital mutilation, sexually transmitted diseases, teenage pregnancy, unsafe abortion, and infertility. Events typically include conferences, lectures, social media contests, breakfasts, luncheons, and free counseling sessions aimed at educating the public about STIs, contraception, pregnancy, abortions, infertility, puberty, and menopause while addressing common misconceptions about sexual health.
