Wear Red Canada, also known as Wear Red Canada Day, is observed every February 13 across Canada. This annual campaign aims to raise awareness of women’s heart health, highlighting that heart disease is the leading cause of premature death in women in Canada and globally. The initiative is organized by the Canadian Women’s Heart Alliance and the Canadian Women’s Health Heart Centre at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Participants are encouraged to wear something red, take selfies, and share them on social media using the hashtags #WearRedCanada and #HerHeartMatters. Additionally, landmarks and buildings across Canada, including cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa, light up red to support the cause. The campaign also promotes proactive involvement through events, challenges, and donations to organizations focused on women's cardiovascular health.
