Civil Service Day is observed in Thailand every April 1, celebrating the anniversary of the enactment of the first Civil Service Act in 1929 by King Prajadhipok, or Rama VII. This act established the foundation for the modern administrative system in Thailand. The first celebration took place in 1979 during the 50th anniversary of the act, leading to the creation of Civil Service Day. Each year, various government agencies take turns hosting a special fair that features thematic exhibitions, a bazaar of local products, and other services. Additionally, the Prime Minister often presents special awards to outstanding civil servants, recognizing their contributions to the Thai bureaucratic system.
