Innovation and Digital Technology Specialists’ Day is observed in Tajikistan every April 21. This professional holiday was officially added to the country’s list of holidays and observances in 2025 to recognize the contributions of specialists in the IT sector. The day aims to encourage high school graduates to pursue degrees related to digital technology, highlighting the importance of developing the country's IT industry. Despite the growing number of IT professionals graduating from Tajik universities, many face challenges finding employment domestically, leading to a brain drain as they seek opportunities abroad. The government has been promoting the IT sector to modernize the economy, with strategic programs aimed at developing the digital economy and artificial intelligence through 2040. The establishment of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies in 2022 further supports this initiative by implementing digital solutions and fostering innovation.
