Veteran of Overseas Military Service Day (Dzień Weterana Działań poza Granicami Państwa) is officially observed in Poland every May 29. Established by the Sejm in 2011 and first celebrated in 2012, this day coincides with the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, commemorating the creation of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization in 1948. The observance honors Polish veterans who have served in various military operations, including the Gulf War, peacekeeping missions in Kosovo, and the Iraq War. While it is not a non-working day unless it falls on a weekend or coincides with a public holiday, it serves to acknowledge the contributions of the Polish Armed Forces in international peacekeeping efforts.
