National Technology Day, also known as National Information Technology Day, is observed in Libya every June 1. Established in 2021 by the Libyan Technology Foundation, this day aims to highlight the importance and potential of the technology sector in Libya, celebrating achievements in information technology and promoting further development and digital transformation. Events are held across various venues, including schools, colleges, workplaces, and tech-related companies, featuring lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and forums. The Libyan Technology Foundation, which was formed in 2020, plays a crucial role in organizing these activities. Despite facing challenges such as undercapitalization and a shortage of skilled workers, Libya's tech sector has shown growth, particularly in telecommunications and fintech. National Technology Day serves as a platform to address these challenges and foster cooperation among technology specialists, investors, and civil society organizations.
