Forklifts, crucial for lifting and moving heavy items in various industrial settings, have a history dating back to the early 20th century, with modern safety features being developed in the mid-20th century. On this day, the ITA organizes seminars, workshops, and training sessions focused on preventing forklift accidents, which result in between 35,000 and 62,000 injuries annually. The observance emphasizes that over 70% of forklift accidents could be prevented through proper safety practices.
