World Croc Day is observed worldwide every year on June 17. This environmental observance is dedicated to crocodiles and aims to highlight the dangers they face. It was inaugurated in 2017 by the Crocodile Research Coalition, a Belize-based nonprofit, in collaboration with the Belize Zoo. The Belize Zoo & Tropical Education Center hosts the largest World Croc Day event, featuring crocodile exhibits, educational seminars, and activities such as arts and crafts. Other zoos and conservation organizations around the globe also participate by hosting their own events. Participants can engage by visiting local zoos with crocodile exhibits, donating to conservation organizations, or educating themselves through books and documentaries about crocodiles. The day encourages spreading awareness through social media using the hashtag #WorldCrocDay.
