The Naliyagan Festival, celebrated in Agusan del Sur, Philippines, occurs annually from June 12 to June 17, culminating on the province’s founding anniversary. This six-day festival showcases the rich culture and heritage of the indigenous tribes of Agusan Valley, featuring a variety of events such as tribal dances, rituals, sporting tournaments, and a trade fair. The festival was inaugurated in 1993 with the participation of Manobo tribal leaders and is named after the Manobo word "naliyagan," meaning “the chosen one” or “the most loved one.” It begins with a traditional ritual by a Manobo high priest and includes a beauty pageant, Bae Naliyagan, representing the province's municipalities. The final day is marked by speeches from dignitaries and an ethnic street dance competition, celebrating the diverse cultural practices of the region.
