Architecture Day is observed in Ukraine every July 1, celebrating the contributions of Ukrainian architects. Established by Presidential Decree in 1995 by President Leonid Kuchma, this holiday originally coincided with the World Day of Architecture, which has since been moved to the first Monday in October. However, Ukraine has retained its observance on July 1. The day highlights the unique and diverse architecture of Ukraine, particularly its ancient cathedrals, such as Saint Sophia's Cathedral in Kyiv, Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, and St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, which showcase the country's architectural heritage.
