Tax Service Employee’s Day is observed in Ukraine every July 2. Established by President Volodymyr Zelensky in July 2020, this holiday highlights the contributions of employees of the State Tax Service to the implementation of the state tax policy. The origins of this celebration date back to 2000 when the first professional holiday for tax service employees was created by President Leonid Kuchma. Initially celebrated on October 30, the holiday underwent several changes, including a transition to the Day of the Employee of the State Tax Service in 2005 and later to the Day of Tax and Customs Service Employees in 2013. Following the restructuring of the State Fiscal Service into separate entities in 2019, the need arose for distinct holidays, leading to the establishment of Tax Service Employee’s Day. On this day, employees and veterans of the tax service receive congratulations and expressions of gratitude for their professionalism and dedication from authorities and tax service officials.
