Accountant and Auditor Day is observed in Ukraine on July 16 each year. This professional day was officially established by a presidential decree on July 18, 2004, to highlight the significant contributions of accountants to the financial and economic stability of organizations and the national economy. The date of July 16 commemorates the adoption of the Law “On Accounting and Financial Reporting in Ukraine” in 1999, which set the legal framework for accounting practices in the country. Prior to its official recognition, the Federation of Accountants and Auditors of Ukraine celebrated this day unofficially. In 2018, the observance was renamed Accountant and Auditor Day to reflect the close collaboration between accountants and auditors in their professional roles. This day serves to honor the importance of both professions in maintaining financial integrity and transparency in Ukraine.
