Bohol Day, or Araw ng Bohol, is observed in the province of Bohol, Philippines, every July 22 to commemorate the province's founding anniversary. This special non-working holiday was officially designated in 1994 and includes various activities such as a flag-raising ceremony, a holy mass, an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding individuals and institutions, and cultural events. Bohol, an island province in the Central Visayas region, has a rich history that includes the Legazpi-Sikatuna Blood Compact, regarded as the first treaty of friendship between Spaniards and Filipinos. The province was established as a separate entity from Cebu on July 22, 1854. Today, Bohol is known for its tourist attractions, including beaches and diving facilities, and was designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2023.
