Coma Patient Day (Dzień Pacjenta w Śpiączce) is observed in Poland every April 18. This official holiday was proclaimed by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on November 23, 2012, and has been celebrated annually since 2013. The day was initiated by a charitable fund established by actress and singer Ewa Błaszczyk, aimed at supporting children with neurological damage and their families. The primary focus of Coma Patient Day is to address the challenges faced by coma patients and their families, as these individuals cannot advocate for their rights. Although it is a working day, various special events are held to highlight the need for proper care and support for coma patients and to promote medical research for new treatment methods.
