Athletic Trainers and Physical Training and Sports Professionals Day is observed in Kyrgyzstan every April 6. This professional day was established by the government of Kyrgyzstan on September 17, 1993, following an initiative from physical training organizations and their staff. Initially, it was celebrated on the last Saturday of September, but in 2014, the date was moved to April 6 to coincide with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, as recognized by the UN General Assembly. The change was formalized through a law signed by the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan. The day highlights the contributions of athletic trainers and sports professionals to the development of sports in the country, with the National Olympic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic playing a significant role in promoting athletic endeavors.
