Drug Control Authority Workers' Day is observed in Kyrgyzstan every April 8, celebrating the efforts of employees of the Drug Control Authority in combating drug production and distribution. This professional holiday was officially established by the Government of Kyrgyzstan on November 16, 2006, and was first celebrated in 2007. Initially, the holiday was marked on February 12, coinciding with the anniversary of the law that established the Drug Control Authority in 2004, which outlined its role, rights, and responsibilities. In 2012, the date was changed to April 8 by a corresponding decree. The day honors the dedication of those working in drug control and recognizes their contributions to public safety and health.
