Economist Day is observed in Tajikistan every April 8 and is a professional holiday established to recognize the contributions of economists to the country's socioeconomic development. The holiday was instituted by the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Holidays” in 2011. It celebrates economists working across various sectors, including government ministries, academia, and private organizations, who engage in research, planning, and management of economic activities. The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade coordinates the celebrations, which often include awards ceremonies, conferences, and workshops.
