International Feng Shui Awareness Day is observed worldwide every April 8. This day aims to educate the public about feng shui, an ancient Chinese practice that focuses on harmonizing individuals with their environment through the flow of qi, or vital energy. The origins of feng shui date back to the Yangshao and Hongshan cultures, around 5000 to 2900 BC, and it historically involved the orientation of tombs and significant structures. Although the contemporary form gained popularity in the West during the 1970s, it is often regarded as pseudoscientific. The International Feng Shui Association (IFSA), established in 2004 and headquartered in Singapore, promotes the appreciation of feng shui globally. Celebrations may include learning about feng shui, sharing insights, participating in webinars, practicing feng shui at home, and using social media to spread awareness with specific hashtags.
