Customs Day, also known as Customs Officers' Day or Customs Service Day, is observed in Kazakhstan every December 12. This official professional holiday commemorates the anniversary of the creation of Kazakhstan's Customs Service in 1991. The holiday celebrates the work of employees of the Customs Control Committee of the Ministry of Finance, which is regulated by the Customs Code that outlines the legal, economic, and organizational principles of customs activity in the country. Customs Day includes official speeches and ceremonies, where distinguished customs officers are recognized with special awards and prizes for their dedication and accomplishments. Although it is a significant day for customs personnel, it is not a non-working day unless it falls on a weekend.
