Research Day is observed in Iran every December 16, coinciding with the 25th day of Azar in the Iranian calendar. This professional and cultural observance aims to highlight the importance of supporting and developing science and technology within the country. Established in 2000 by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Research Day initiates an annual Research Week that lasts until December 21, featuring various educational events such as technology expos, lectures, and workshops. These activities are designed to showcase the work of Iranian scientists and facilitate connections between technology creators and potential sponsors. The event was initiated by a subordinate organization of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, which focuses on maintaining an Islamic cultural and educational framework in Iran.
