Insurance Employee Day is observed in Kyrgyzstan every December 18. Established in February 2017, this professional holiday recognizes the contributions of insurance employees to the development of the state economy and the social significance of the services provided by insurance companies. The holiday features professional events organized by the State Service for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market, where distinguished insurance employees are rewarded for their hard work and professionalism. The insurance system in Kyrgyzstan emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union, transitioning from a centralized to a market economy, which necessitated the establishment of a de-monopolized, non-state-owned insurance system. Despite the dynamic development of the insurance market, it has not yet played a significant role in the country's economy. Nonetheless, insurance companies are focused on continuous improvement and collaboration with foreign counterparts to enhance their services.
