Recurrence pattern: every year on December 4.
Epic of Manas Day is observed in Kyrgyzstan every December 4. This cultural observance was initiated by the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2015 and is supported by the parliament and government. The day celebrates the Epic of Manas, a traditional epic poem that narrates the adventures of the hero Manas, his followers, and descendants, and is one of the longest epic poems in history. The epic, which has been passed down orally by manaschis, traditional Kyrgyz storytellers, consists of approximately 500,000 lines. The holiday aims to popularize the epic among the younger generation, contribute to its preservation, and support manaschis through various cultural events held throughout Kyrgyzstan.
