Youth Day is observed in Azerbaijan every February 2. This holiday was established in 1997 following the First Forum of Azerbaijani Youth held in 1996, which was initiated by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports and the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The forum saw participation from over 2,000 representatives of various youth organizations, which now number around 200 in the country. These organizations address issues such as fostering patriotic spirit in education, reducing unemployment, promoting health and education, and encouraging active civic engagement among youth. The establishment of Youth Day marked a significant step towards enhancing cooperation between youth organizations and the state.
