Vietnamese Doctors' Day is observed in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam every February 27. This professional observance has been held annually since 1955 to honor the contributions of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical staff. On this day, various events take place, including celebrations in medical and educational institutions, medical conferences, and receptions. Government officials express their gratitude to healthcare professionals for their roles in providing examination and treatment, engaging in professional training and scientific research, and striving to modernize the medical profession. The importance of public health is emphasized, and in 2010, the Ministry of Health adopted a five-year development plan focusing on health information systems, human resources, and preventive medicine.
