Global Chaplains Day is observed worldwide every February 7 to honor chaplains for their selfless service and the important work they do. The day was launched in 2020 by the Global Chaplains Alliance, a nonprofit organization that supports chaplains of all faiths and denominations. It recognizes the diverse roles chaplains play across various institutions, including the military, schools, healthcare facilities, and more. The inaugural ceremony took place in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and while the event was paused in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it resumed in 2022 with global celebrations. Activities on this day include special ceremonies and prayers dedicated to chaplains, acknowledging their contributions regardless of their religious affiliation. Global Chaplains Day was inspired by Four Chaplains Day, which honors military chaplains, but it aims to recognize all chaplains, including those in non-military settings.
