Art Break Day is observed worldwide on every first Friday of September. This annual event, coordinated by the non-profit organization Art is Moving, celebrates the act of creating art as a valuable means of taking a break. It aims to promote the benefits of experiencing art regularly, contributing to growth, creativity, health, education, and happiness. The first Art Break Day took place in 2011, and by 2016, over 16,000 art breaks had been organized in 99 communities globally, facilitated by 320 volunteers. Participants are encouraged to host public, free events that invite community members to create art. Additionally, individuals can engage in Art Break Month throughout September by taking small breaks for art each day and sharing their creations on social media.
