The Three Kings Parade, known as Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos, is celebrated in Spain every January 5. This beloved festival commemorates the journey of the three kings—Balthasar, Melchor, and Gaspar—who traveled to present gifts to Jesus, as described in the New Testament. The first parade was organized in 1885 by the government to mark this special holiday. The event features illuminated streets and Nativity scenes, with the parade beginning around 6 pm, where the kings ride on horses or camels. Children eagerly participate by leaving their shoes out for the kings to fill with presents, often accompanied by treats for the kings and their animals. The next morning, children find that the hay has been eaten and gifts have been left beside their shoes, making it a magical experience for families.
