Scouts’ Day is observed in Thailand every July 1 to commemorate the founding anniversary of the National Scout Organization of Thailand, established in 1911 by King Vajiravudh, known as the Father of Thai Scouting. The day marks the anniversary of the creation of the Tiger Cubs, a junior branch of the Wild Tiger Corps, which was inspired by the Scout movement initiated by British officer Robert Baden-Powell. On this day, Thai Scouts participate in parades and various activities honoring King Vajiravudh. The National Scout Organization of Thailand, which is open to boys and girls of all religions, is one of the largest in the world, with over 800,000 members aged 8 to 25. Scouting is integrated into the school curriculum, particularly for grades 6 to 8, and emphasizes principles such as loyalty to the country, community service, and spiritual values. The king of Thailand serves as the honorary Chief Scout, highlighting the unique royal foundation of the movement in the country.
