The Wattah-Wattah Festival, also known as the Basaan Festival, is observed in San Juan, a city in Metro Manila, Philippines, every June 24. This annual celebration commemorates the nativity of Saint John the Baptist, the city's patron saint. Traditionally, residents engage in water fights, dousing each other with water using various vessels, symbolizing the baptisms performed by Saint John in the Jordan River. Since 2003, it has been an official holiday in San Juan, although water dousing was canceled in 2023 due to water conservation efforts.
