Prosecutor’s Office Employees Day is observed in Belarus every June 26 to commemorate the establishment of the State Prosecutor’s Office in 1922 as part of the People’s Commissariat of Justice of the Byelorussian SSR. This official professional holiday celebrates the role of the prosecutor's office in supervising the legality of actions taken by state, public, and private institutions, as well as protecting citizens' rights and public interests. The holiday was officially added to Belarus's calendar of professional days in 1998, although it is not a non-working day unless it falls on a weekend. The present-day Prosecutor’s Office of Belarus, formed on August 25, 1991, continues to coordinate law enforcement activities against crime and corruption.
