The Day of State Symbols is observed in Kazakhstan every June 4. This day commemorates the official approval of the country's state symbols in 1992 and has been celebrated nationwide since 2007. The state symbols include the national flag, emblem, and anthem. The flag features a blue field adorned with a sun, a soaring steppe eagle, and a golden ornamental pattern known as koshkar-muiz. The emblem depicts a shanuarak, symbolizing a yurt against a blue sky, with elements colored in gold, including a five-pointed star and the word "Kazakhstan." The national anthem, titled "My Kazakhstan," was approved in 2006 and originally written in 1956, with amendments made to its text by President Nursultan Nazarbayev. This day serves to celebrate and honor Kazakhstan's national identity and heritage.
