National Caribbean American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NCAHAAD) is observed every June 8, primarily in the United States. Established to provide Caribbean Americans with resources to reduce the risk of HIV, this day falls on the 8th day of National Caribbean Heritage Month. It highlights the high prevalence of HIV in the Caribbean region, which is the highest outside of sub-Saharan Africa. Various organizations, including HIV.gov and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hold events aimed at encouraging Caribbean Americans to get tested and seek professional health services if needed. NCAHAAD also seeks to combat HIV stigma within the Caribbean diaspora and promote informed health decisions through education and encouragement.
