National Youth Day is observed in the Turks and Caicos Islands every last Friday of September to honor the youth, who represent the future of the nation. This public holiday recognizes the significant contribution of young people to the islands' development, where approximately one-third of the population is under 15 years old. Celebrations are widespread throughout the country and include a variety of festive activities such as parades, singing and dancing performances, talent shows, competitions, rallies, concerts, and sports games. These events are coordinated by the Department of Youth Affairs in the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere for the youth and the community. As a public holiday, citizens are granted a day off to participate in the celebrations.
