Curling Day in Canada is observed every last Saturday of February to celebrate the sport of curling, which originated in Scotland. The day was launched in 2019 by Curling Canada, the national governing body for curling, with the aim of promoting the sport and uniting the curling community, including athletes, coaches, and fans. Events organized to mark this day include curling sessions for beginners, meet and greets with athletes, tournaments, and other fun activities. The first curling club in Canada, the Royal Montreal Curling Club, was established in 1807, and curling has since become especially popular in Canada. The world governing body for curling, World Curling, was founded in 1966 and currently has 73 member associations. Participants can engage by attending local events, organizing their own, or supporting youth curling programs through merchandise purchases.
