The Day of Drug Control Authorities is observed in Russia every March 11, celebrating the professional holiday of employees of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation (FKSN). Established by President Vladimir Putin in 2008, this day commemorates the founding of the FKSN on March 11, 2003. The FKSN is a federal law enforcement agency responsible for addressing issues related to the trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors. Its main tasks include monitoring drug trafficking, investigating and preventing related crimes, coordinating with law enforcement authorities, and maintaining a unified database on drug trafficking issues. Approximately 40,000 employees of the FKSN celebrate this day, highlighting their role in combating drug-related offenses in Russia.
