Tree Day is observed in North Macedonia every March 12 and November 13, focusing on replanting the country's forests, which have suffered from extensive wildfires. The event was initiated in 2008 by activist Boris Trajanov, who led the campaign "Tree Day – Plant Your Future." The first event saw over 2 million saplings planted, with participation from around 200,000 people, representing 10% of the nation's population. Since its inception, Tree Day has become an important tradition, with tree planting also occurring during other holidays, albeit in smaller quantities. The initiative aims to restore the ecological balance and engage the community in environmental stewardship.
