Constitution Day is observed in Andorra every March 14, commemorating the approval of the modern constitution in a referendum held on this date in 1993. The current constitution, which consists of 107 articles divided into 9 chapters, establishes a parliamentary system led by the Prime Minister. The origins of Andorra's constitutional history trace back to 1934 when Boris I, a Russian emigrant, briefly declared himself King of Andorra and enacted an earlier constitution. Although his reign lasted only a week and a half, it marked a significant moment in the country's governance. The modern constitution came into force on April 28, 1993, following its publication in the Butlletà Oficial del Principat d'Andorra. Constitution Day serves as a reminder of the democratic principles and governance established in Andorra.
