Baloch Culture Day is observed every March 2 to celebrate the rich culture and history of the Baloch people, who primarily inhabit the Balochistan region across Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan, as well as the global Baloch diaspora. The holiday honors the Baloch's unique traditions, including their music, dances, traditional clothing, jewelry, and cuisine, with the most famous dish being sajji, a whole chicken or lamb roasted on a skewer. Celebrations feature colorful cultural events such as traditional music performances, dances, craft fairs, food stalls, exhibitions, and poetry readings, with the largest festivities typically taking place in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. The Baloch people, who mainly speak the Balochi language and practice Sunni Islam, organize these events to pass their cultural heritage to future generations. Their social structure is based on blood kinship, with numerous clans and tribes, reflecting a strong sense of community despite challenges in forming a nation-state.
