This gene is crucial for proper brain development and function, and its mutations can lead to developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and a range of other symptoms. Established by the CHAMP1 Research Foundation, founded in 2018, the day aims to advocate for research and improve public understanding of this condition. Individuals can participate by learning about CHAMP1 mutations, donating to the foundation, and sharing information on social media using the hashtag #CHAMP1AwarenessDay. As of now, there are approximately 100 diagnosed cases in over 20 countries, with management focusing on treating symptoms and enhancing quality of life.
