Anti-Stalking Day is observed in Ukraine every May 14, initiated by Amnesty International Ukraine to highlight the issue of stalking and encourage victims to share their experiences. The day aims to make stalking, often regarded as an "invisible problem" in Ukrainian society, more visible and to foster public discussion about it. Stalking is defined as unwanted and repeated surveillance that can range from seemingly harmless actions to intimidation and violence. Victims of stalking frequently experience psychological abuse, leading to significant disruptions in their daily lives. In Ukraine, there are currently no legal protections for stalking victims until physical harm occurs, leaving many to confront the issue alone. Amnesty International Ukraine invites victims and their supporters to participate by sharing their stories on social media using the hashtag #StopStalking, fostering a community of support and awareness.
